Blesso Properties is currently developing a 13-room boutique hotel in Casco Viejo, Panama City, Panama; the historic neighborhood of Panama City.
Imagine the hotel as the collective interaction of the four independent elements of the building (the 13-room hotel, the destination restaurant, the lively ground floor bar and the only public outdoor rooftop bar / lounge in Casco Viejo) as one commercial organism that is constantly morphing from the daytime activities of meeting and visiting to the nighttime festivities of feasting and dancing. Like other well executed hotels in a metropolitan setting, the space is designed to be either peaceful and serene or vibrant and frenetic depending upon the time, use, and desire.
The hotel will be one of Panama City’s finest modern boutique hotels hidden behind a restored contextual facade. The design will be sophisticated, sexy and luxurious. The development will have a unique central courtyard, bathed in natural light and lush landscaping, which will breathe life and energy into the surrounding public spaces.
The project will have a number of sustainable features, including water reclamation technology and reclaimed wood.
The Casco Viejo area is enjoying continued government investment of the city’s historical district is quickly becoming a favorite destination for both locals and tourists alike with an increasing number of restaurant and nightlife options. The new four-lane thoroughfare / pedestrian bike path from the Panama City center was completed in November of 2010. This served to reduce the traffic congestion to and from the city center and thus increase the willingness of tourists and Panamanians to visit Casco Viejo.
