Located on a historic tree-lined block in Chelsea, Blesso Properties purchased this elegant five-story brick in 2006 in an off-market transaction with the foresight of the High Line Park and West Chelsea’s rise to prominence in mind. The property was held as an income-producing investment until its renovation, and condo conversion were achieved in 2014. We redesigned the first two floors of the building into one large duplex, recapturing significant square footage that was previously used for circulation, while using the rest of the building to re-define the concept of studio living by questioning the preconceived notion that smaller units mean sacrifices or compromises.
Blesso Properties customized each of the studio units with a program of craft finishes, efficiency and convertibility. Features include murphy beds, a dining table for five that folds into the wall, stackable chairs designed to fit in an adjacent closet, rolling library ladders to access copious built-in storage and individual washer/dryers in every unit.
